Switching from Securly or GoGuardian
Run Shepherd beside your current filter for thirty days. It watches, reports and blocks nothing. When you trust what you see, turn it on and retire the old extension.

Ready to turn on filteringTurn on
Thirty days, side by side
Nothing changes for students while you decide. Your current filter stays in charge; Shepherd sees the same traffic and fills its reports, so you can compare the two on your own school’s browsing before you commit.
There is nothing to put on the network and nothing for students to sign in to.

Teachers keep their view
If your teachers use a classroom tool today, they get the same things in Shepherd: every screen in the class, rosters from Google Classroom, focus mode, and locking, messaging and closing tabs.

Questions schools ask before switching
- Can two filters run at the same time?
Yes. During the pilot Shepherd only observes, so your current filter keeps doing the blocking. Students see no Shepherd block pages until you turn filtering on.
- Will our policies carry over automatically?
No. Every filter models policies differently, so we rebuild yours with you, starting from Elementary, Middle, High and Staff templates mapped to your OUs. Bring a list of your custom allowed and blocked sites.
- What happens to our old history?
It stays with your current vendor. Export what you need before the contract ends; Shepherd’s reports start from the first day of the pilot.
- We also use a classroom tool. Is there an equivalent?
Yes. The Filter + Classroom plan includes live screens, Google Classroom rosters, focus mode, and locking, messaging and closing tabs.
- What about Windows and Mac computers?
Shepherd is built for managed Chromebooks. Chrome on Windows or Mac also works when the browser is managed by your Google Admin Console or your domain; tell us what you have and we will check it with you.
- When should we start?
About sixty days before your current contract renews. That leaves thirty days to pilot and time for a purchase order.
Plan your switch
Tell us your renewal date and how many Chromebooks you have. We will set up the pilot so it finishes before you have to sign anything.
